Descendant

from Extra Chaos by Eddie Rifkind

about

A new generation of an electronic composition that you can download for free here: soundcloud.com/eddierifkind/descent
This is the new (2016) addition of lyrics and guitar, as well as a new arrangement, to the instrumental piece, "Descent" from my 2002 album Participating Asylums May Vary. The original was itself a remix of "Pulses," from the same album.

lyrics

there's no tomorrow
there's no tomorrow
just a carbon copy nightmare
of today

mother always told me
don't waste a drop that's on that shelf
but nobody wants this poison
I guess i'll drink it myself

you think it's special
the endless journey
and then with clear vision
you awake

the soul comes with the serpent
wrapped around the apple tree
we are beautifully imperfect
we're in hell but we are free

you think it's special
the place that love lives
then with horror and clear vision
you awake

blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah
i tell it to the sky
and i move on

mother always told me
don't waste a drop that's up in that shelf
but nobody wants this poison
I guess i'll drink it myself

blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah
i tell it to the sky
and i am gone

blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah
i'll tell it to the sky
someday again
